Game Design Intern (Copenhagen, Denmark)🧃🐴

Are you an aspiring game designer? Do you wanna intern with us, maybe?

We're not trying to brag but we like to think Triband is one of the best places to get hands-on experience with game design for an early-career game developer like you.

WHO DO WE TAKE ON AS INTERNS?

If you want to start your career in game design, this is the place to do it. Whether you're an aspiring level designer, passionate about UX, a techy gameplay designer, or a beautiful mix of all of those, you're gonna fit in well with us.

Maybe you're a skilled coder - that's awesome! But you don't need to be. As long as you feel somewhat comfortable making things in the Unity editor, you will be fine.

We're currently only taking on design interns.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You'll be connected to a mentor who will help guide your work and provide feedback as you go.

You'll be a part of a game dev team where you'll be part of daily meetings and activities and working directly on the games.

We are a diverse and open-minded crowd and we try to create a safe work environment where everybody contributes and feels good about sharing and taking part.

Like guinea pigs and budgies, interns are too smart and social to be left alone. We try to always take on two interns at a time so you will have someone to share the experience with (though it's not always possible). 🐦🐹

We work in Unity and everyone does their own implementations - that means you, too! Sometimes we make drawings on napkins, but most of the time, we are hands-on in the editor. To thrive here, you need to feel comfortable not just sharing your own ideas by talking about them but showing them off directly in the engine.

PRACTICAL STUFF

  • Internships with Triband are generally 5-6-ish months long but we are flexible if your education requires it to be shorter or longer
  • We offer both part-time and full-time internships, depending on what makes sense for your education
  • You should be able to be on-site with us in the office at least two days (15 hours) per week for the majority of the internship period
  • Our working language is English
  • We pay “erkendtlighed” (the maximum we are legally allowed to pay students)

REQUIREMENTS

  • You're currently studying a bachelor's or a master's degree (or similar) in a discipline relevant to game design
  • You're currently based in the Copenhagen area (or close enough for a daily commute)
  • You have hands on experience working with Unity

TIPS FOR YOUR APPLICATION

  • Just be yourself - we wanna get to know the real you
  • We'd rather see something you made than just read about it. And we'd rather play something than see it!
  • Relax - interviews and applications can be stressful but it's really just a way for us to get to know you and you to get to know us

WHAT THE TRIBAND?

Triband is an independent, Danish game developer famous for the international award winning mobile games WHAT THE GOLF? and WHAT THE CAR?

We make people laugh by focusing on exploring comedy through gameplay. We like breaking player expectations, wondrous music, slick art and quirky vibes. We experiment. A lot. It doesn’t always work out, but we always learn something!

We are currently nearly 40 people, including over 13 nationalities. We put our people first and strive to create a safe and creative working environment. We believe that teams, not individuals, make games - and believe diversity makes for better teams. For these reasons, we look for people who make the team better, bring new perspectives, and can challenge the way we do things!
